Bomber Jacket

Bomber jackets

Jackets are a mainstay of mine but definitely for anyone who lives in the Northeast.  On trend this fall have been bomber jackets.  They are so cute and fun.  They come in all color and designs.  It's a nice break away from the leather jacket and definitely more playful.  I chose one with pink of course and couldn't be happier.  This satin jacket has floral embroidery on the front and back and makes me think of the "pink ladies" from the movie Grease.  Bomber jackets come in various colors and styles but this one is perfect for me.   See below for various bomber jacket options.

First Outing in Mango Coat

Fall coat for new york blue coat

I am in love...my little Angel is here and I am enjoying every minute of it.  Honestly, I am pretty tired as well but I expected that and every minute of exhaustion is completely worth it.  I was very lucky and my husband stayed home for the first two weeks with me when we came home from the hospital.  I was very nervous since I have never held a newborn before or even changed a diaper.  They say it comes naturally and they were not wrong.  Its crazy how it really just comes to you.  I am so comfortable holding my little baby and taking care of her.  My biggest fear used to be the day
I would have to stay home alone with her for the first time but that day came and I felt so at ease.  It was not as bad as I had always imagined and I handled it like a champ!

So three weeks in and I really haven't left the house except to take my little one to the doctor.  It has been so cold that I really don't mind being inside.  It was time though for me to get some fresh air.  My in-laws wanted to visit and see the baby one weekend and with that, I had babysitters.  My mother-in-law encouraged me to go out as well as she said it would be good for me.  My husband and I stepped out for brunch and at first I was worried but we were really only a block away and I knew she was in good hands.  I had such a great time with my husband.  We go a chance to unwind and really catch up with each other.  It is so important to have that alone time even if it just for a few hours.

December has been so cold and there were flurries coming down by the time we headed home.  This wool coat from Mango is very warm and I layered with a turtleneck cable knit sweater and heat-tech leggings and undershirt.  My over the knee boots provided another layer of much needed insulation.  I am so happy with this coat especially the color.  I didn't own a blue coat before and this one goes very well with almost anything.  Coats are so important in New York, where is your favorite coat from?

Over the Knee Boots

over the knee boots stuart weitzman

This is one last outfit I threw together before giving birth.  These boots are so comfortable and keep me warm.  I wore a plain grey jersey dress and my leather jacket to take a stroll around the neighborhood.  I wanted to make sure I kept walking as much as possible.  I heard it helps for a smooth labor.  I'll have more about that later!  With labor near, I wanted to also make sure my hair was done before I went to the hospital looking a mess.  I used my Irresistible ME flat iron to give my hair this straight style that lasted long past delivery!

All Black

leather leggings pregnancy fashion

I can't believe its been a month already since I welcomed little ChloĆ© into this world. I couldn't be happier.  It is a completely new feeling and I can't even remember what life felt like beforehand.  Just one week before giving birth, I was enjoying a quiet weekend in the neighborhood.  I actually was able to fit into my leather leggings still!  The weather didn't reach the current frigid temperatures so all I needed at the time was this black poncho.  A simple outfit for a simple weekend.  Because now, there is no such thing but I am grateful for it!

Snapped Maternity Shoot

I found the answer to great photos for a fraction of the price!  Snapped is an amazing service that offers professional photography for affordable prices.  This a new company that has selected a handful of quality and skilled photographers that will come to you for a 45 minute session and have edited photos delivered to you within hours for you to share online.  They also offer different session lengths and have great pricing options.  You can book them as soon as just a day in advance.  This is great for kid birthday parties, engagement shoots, blogger outfit photos, or maternity shoots.

We had the opportunity to take advantage of one of their pop up weekend shoots and experience them first hand in Central Park.  The photographer was very friendly and made us feel comfortable right away.  I was happy knowing that they only work with a select number of photographers who have been vetted so I knew I would be receiving quality pictures.  Also, they are not rigid with the timeframe at all.  I never felt rushed and I couldn't believe how fast we received the edited set.  I included a few of my favorites from our session.  I highly recommend this service and hope you will try them out!

Blue Uniqlo tights

Uniqlo Heattech tights

Comfort is my main priority and keeping warm is right up there with comfort.  These Heattech tights from Uniqlo are so essential for my cold weather attire.  They really do work at keeping you warmer than ordinary tights.  Plus these are a size small and fit nicely over my bump without having to squeeze into it.

Sometimes I think I need to reconsider what my favorite color is because I find myself wearing blue so often.  Here I wore my Zara shirt dress, from this post, and layered this cashmere sweater that I have had for years over it.  Add navy Uniqlo tights and you have a simple and easy outfit pulled together from your closet.  Simple is key!

Grey & Pink

Pregnancy fashion maternity style

Dressing for work was one of my concerns for this pregnancy.  Luckily I have found that stretchy dresses with either a cardigan or light jacket have been my saving grace.  I have enjoyed showing off the bump and feel great with it.  I really like my bump and it surprises me everyday how great I feel wearing these fitted pieces.

This simple mock neck high low dress from Saint Grace fit easily over the bump even though it is a size small.  I love the contrast with pink jacket.  Pink and grey are always a great combination.  Comfortable wedges and I am able to head off to work.  My main accessory this pregnancy has been my Jetsetter backpack from Henri Bendel.  I really did not want to carry anything heavy and with this bag, I can just throw it on my back where the weight will be evenly distributed and I still have my hands free.

Favorite Fall Trench & 9th Month update

Maternity style pregnancy fashion

So I found this amazing trench while on my trip to France.  This trench from Mango has become my go to coat for these Fall temperatures.  Its lightweight enough for the warmer than normal Fall days and heavy enough to keep me warm for the entire season.  It is made of a more structured cotton blend so it doesn't wrinkle as easy as other trench coats that I have had in the past.  It is a very simple coat with leather details around the cuffs.    It pairs well with everything including this French Connection dress.  This is not a maternity dress but has enough stretch to fit over the belly thankfully.  The heels were a nice touch but I didn't wear these for long, walking in the 9th month is more painful than I expected, which brings me to my 9th month update.

I am officially in the ninth month and no one seemed to mention the pain that comes with it.  Time is just counting down now, I am excited, nervous, scared, happy all at the same time.  I am not trying to scare anyone definitely but wanted to share my experience.  I have been fortunate actually to have had a rather smooth pregnancy but the pelvic pressure that comes in the 9th month was a big surprise to me.  It does make commuting to work, up and down subway stairs, more difficult than I would like.  I now wear an elastic belt under my belly to help support the weight.  Another symptom I was not aware about is pregnancy carpel tunnel.  My fingers have swollen a bit and feel very stiff.  It is bothersome especially since I work at a keyboard all day but unfortunately there is not much I can do to relieve the pain.  Also, there are these contractions called Braxton Hicks which are practice contractions and do not indicate real labor.  Well, let me tell you, I felt those a few weeks ago and freaked out.  I kept thinking that I had more time and it was too soon but came to realize it wasn't real labor.  Fortunately haven't had those again but at least now I feel more ready.  Don't want to be caught off guard again!  Also, I am generally more tired.  I pretty much slept all day today even though I had a full nights sleep.  One thing for sure, I have been very luck to not have any problems sleeping.  Yes, I wake up occasionally to use the bathroom or with a quick bout of heartburn but I am always able to go back to sleep and I don't have one of those pregnancy pillows.   All in all, everything is going well according to the doctor and that is what I primarily care about.  Its just a few weeks away now and she will be here!!!

Pink Blush Maternity

cute maternity clothes, pregnancy clothes

Not all maternity clothes are the same!  You have your pieces that you know you will only get to wear while you are pregnant and then you have Pink Blush Maternity.  They are the company behind cute maternity clothes!  I received this dress for a review and after trying it on, I wanted to wear it everyday.  This white lace dress expands with my growing belly and it will be something I will still be able to wear afterwards.  I really didn't want to buy maternity clothes because it can be so pricey to buy pieces you will only wear for a few months.  However, Pink Blush offers clothes that will grow with you and will also fit after you give birth.  This is a plus in my book.

In addition, as many know, I love wearing white and this off white dress makes me feel like I am floating.  It is so lightweight and comfortable.  I love the 3/4' length sleeves and the lace overlay is very girly, which is definitely me!  The rounded neck gives a very soft and elegant feel and I am very happy with the length of the dress.  Pink Blush Maternity keeps you stylish and comfortable while pregnant at affordable prices!  I already know I will also find myself wearing this well after I give birth.  Check out my Instagram to enter my Pink Blush Giveaway for a chance to win a $75 gift card!

Dress Lily Sweater Dress

Dress Lily online fashion store

This October has been all over the place.  There have been days in the 40's and then there are these warm days like today with a high of 70.  I will always take the warm days over the cold but luckily, I found Dress Lily.  Dress Lily is an online global women's fashion store.  They offer affordable clothing because they do business directly with the factory and cut out any middlemen.  This allows them to offer lower prices than others.  They sell products worldwide and ship to wherever you are.  There is also free shipping available.  Don't let the low prices fool you, the quality of the clothing is not being shorted.

My review of this Dress Lily sweater dress begins with the thickness.  This Wave Jacquard pullover sweater dress is very substantial and came in handy on this colder than average day.  It is tightly woven so it does not allow the cold air to flow right through, keeping me warm instead.  In addition, the colors and design are vibrant and perfect for this fall season.  I am eight months pregnant here and this dress came in only one size but fit perfectly.  This is a piece I know that I will be able to wear well into the winter even after I give birth.  I am very pleased with this dress that I received.  Overall, they have quality products for a price that can't be beat!
