Mosaic Stairs

16th avenue Mosaic steps

For the President's Day holiday weekend, my husband and I took a trip to San Francisco.  I hadn't been to the west coast in such a long time and it was great to be back.  I lived in Los Angeles for two years before I moved to New York and it was one of the best experiences in my life.  It was the first time moving to a city where I knew absolutely no one.  That really gave me the opportunity to unwind and really focus on the person that I wanted to truly be.  I made so many great friends and learned so much about myself.  Going to San Francisco reminded me of all the good times I had in LA and it was even nice this time because I shared it with my husband.

There is so much to see in San Francisco, the city is gorgeous.  There are the touristy spots such as Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, Alcatraz, and Lombard Street which I made sure to take my husband to but there are also many great finds such as the 16th Avenue Tiled Mosaic Steps in the Golden Gate Heights Neighborhood.   These beautifully crafted mosaic steps were a community project that after 163 steps, leads to an incredible view of the city.  This project was inspired by the famous steps in Brazil and does not disappoint.  The sun was shining and it made climbing these stairs all worth it, I changed into sneakers for the climb :)

To spend this lovely day, I kept it casual and loose fitting.  I purchased these "jogger" pants from Hanger Boutique in Astoria as well as the sweater.  Even though it was sunny, it tends to get chilly very quickly and this sweater came in handy.  I do tend to wear more fitted pants but recently I am leaning towards looser and relaxed fits.  Its nice to feel comfortable and even though this is casual, it still has a cute and edgy look to it.  What do you think about the loose fitting pants, would you wear them?

Thank you for reading,

Andrea
